On February 3, 2014 in 15. 00 in the Komi National library there will be organised a memorial party  "Roads of  "The Big Man", devoted to  125 anniversary since  birth of the Russian-American sociologist and  scholar of the XX century Pitirim Aleksandrovich Sorokin.

The program of the party will acquaint the participants with P. A. Sorokin's scientific creativities and life.

Director of the Museum of History of Education (Syktyvkar State University) Burlykina M. I. will tell about P. A. Sorokin's heritage.

Kuzivanova O. Yu. - Direktor of “The Naslediye” Center  will acquaint the guests with new books on Sorokin.

Chief keeper of museum collections of the National Gallery Pankrusheva O.K. will speak of  Christmas cards presented by S.Sorokin to the Gallery in 2009.

The book exhibition "Everything began in the north of Russia …: devoted to  125 th anniversary since birth of Pitirim Aleksandrovich Sorokin -  sociologist, culturologist,  philosopher" will be opened.
